Review: The Body Shop Brazil Nut Body Butter

Hello Lovelies!

Today I'm sharing a review on The Body Shop's Brazil Nut body butter. I remember my first experience with the famous body butters from TBS being horrible! Years ago, I purchased the Mango scent and it smelled delicious but when I tried it out, it felt like I was rubbing Vaseline all over my body. Gross. After that first encounter, I was too horrified to try any of the other body butters they in their line. Being a beauty noob at the time, I never researched my beauty products and hardly knew a thing about make up but now things are different!

Last week, TBS was having a promotion to get 50% off your online order if you purchased the "Bag for Life" tote at $5. With this in mind, I decided to give the body butters another go but this time with a handful of research under my belt. It turns out that the consistencies and textures of each body butter differs depending on the scent. Some body butters will leave more of a thick and greasy feel on your skin while others will absorb quickly and make your skin feel silky smooth! To find out which one is for you just takes a little bit of research. After a few reviews and recommendations, I settled on the 6.9 oz. tub of Brazil Nut and boy am I happy with my purchase.

I'm not a huge fan of the scents TBS offers but I found out that this particular one has a very faint, soft scent. The little bit of fragrance that I can smell from it is sweet and creamy which is definitely my preference in body products! This body butter absorbs very quickly (I apply it all over after I shower) and doesn't feel like it leaves a film on my skin. The consistency is extremely rich and thick so I feel super luxurious when I'm it smoothing on!

The only think I would change with this body butter is the packaging. I like the cute tub but I think it would be a lot more sanitary if it could be in a squeeze tube with a wide nozzle to expel the product. Other than that, I'm in LOVE and I'm definitely looking to try out more scents!

  1. Omgsh, welcome back! :D I was looking through my youtube subscriptions and I was wondering if you'd ever come back to the video/blogging world. Will you be making more videos? :)

I've never tried that body butter but it does look really nice when it's blended out since it doesn't seem to leave a greasy feeling. I have really dry skin on my body and so far the best thing that's worked for me is Vaseline :( Do you think this would hydrate very dry skin?

  2. @Angelic Betrayal: Thanks love! It's great to be back. I actually just posted up a video on my channel minutes ago and it's a vlog if you want to check it out and see what I've been up to!

I definitely think it's moisturizing enough for very dry skin because that's what I have and I live in the dessert which makes it worse. :( I highly recommend it and if you're unsure, you could just return it if it doesn't work out for you!

  6. i live for that body butter!!! My sister and i are huge TBS fans and her faves are the Cocoa Butter, Vitamin E, & Shea BB's, i tried those as well but they weren't for me. The Shea smells like windex on my skin (have no clue y) and the Vitamin E feels sticky to me. I have naturally dry skin on my body especially on my legs but i dont want to feel greasy. I originally used the Olive Oil BB for years and loved it but it can smell a bit earthy or green sometimes and it may be too oily in the summer. It can be heavy but i still love it. The Coconut is great too cuz its not too.....Almond Joy smellin' lol. But i have to say the Brazil Nut is my favorite, its light enough to not leave a film and heavy enough to moisturize and i never have to reapply. I

  8. Oh, this is the best body butter from TBS that I have loved so far aside from the vanilla seasonal body butter. I do not like the Chocomania as it gives me some allergic reaction to the product and if you accidently touched your mouth, you will be sorry as it is as bitter as bittergourd!
